MY STORY
I’m an American abstract painter based in southern Germany - shaped by the light and motion of my California roots, and the quiet precision of European space.
I paint what I notice - not just what’s seen, but what’s felt. A moment of tension. A shift in balance. The pause before something becomes clear.
My work is more than something to hang on a wall. It’s something to return to - quiet, grounded, and always slightly new.
If a piece speaks to you, I hope you’ll choose to live with it.

ARTIST STATEMENT
I’m Matthew G. Beall, an American abstract painter living in Europe.
My work explores movement, energy, and emotion. Each piece is more than a static image — it’s a visual story, alive with bold gestures and a limited yet expressive palette. I want my work to feel like a pulse, a rhythm you step into, a moment you feel in your body.
I don’t paint to follow convention. I paint to explore. To express what’s beneath the surface — tension, curiosity, memory, momentum. Sometimes that takes shape through abstract forms; sometimes through textures and everyday objects. Whatever the medium, I aim to bring vitality, relevance, and presence to every piece.
Ultimately, I hope my paintings don’t just catch your eye — I hope they move you. Art, to me, is an invitation: to slow down, to notice, to feel. If my work does that for you, then we’re already connected.
